Movies

ScreenFlow supports all QuickTime movie formats (MOV, MPEG, AVI, etc). You can extend the range of formats by installing additional “codecs”. (A very commonly desired one is DivX®). ScreenFlow will inform you if a codec is missing or if you need to install one.

It is beyond the scope of this documentation to describe all of the possible codecs available on the market today or explain the intricacies of installing each. Contact the provider of the codec for details on installing.

ScreenFlow won’t show a specific video format

If ScreenFlow will not play back a movie file you’ve imported, please try to open the media with QuickTime Player. If QuickTime Player cannot open the file, then most likely the codec is not properly installed (or there is no codec available for the media). If you find that QuickTime Player is able to play back the clip and yet the clip is not playing in ScreenFlow, please contact us at desktopsupport@telestream.net or through our online support form.
